What Do the Friends Do?
The Friends provide financial support for various programs, projects, and equipment
purchases that make the Library a more complete community resource.
Here are some of what the Friends have done lately (or are doing) for the Library:
- Published periodically the Benzie Shores District
Library Shorelines newsletter.
- Provided matching funds for the "Value Line" and "Morningstar"
subscriptions.
- Provided Computer magazine and Health Letter subscriptions.
- Provided a significant "Reference Collection" through the Duncan Memorial
Fund.
- Purchased and maintained the Library landscaping.
- Provide ongoing financial support for: the: "Reflections
by the Bay" program series, Summer Story Hours, and Summer Reading Programs.

How Can the Friends Do What They Do?
The Friends ability to support our commitments to the Library is based on our
membership dues, donations, and fundraising projects.
- The Friends have the following items for sale as a fundraiser:
- Prints from Historical Photos
- Antique 1904 Frankfort Harbor Map
- Commemorative Hot Plate Tiles
- Famous Author Cookbooks
- Three Ships Posters.
- The Friends hold an Annual Used Book Sale on the third Saturday
in August. It is a major fundraiser.
- Book donations are appreciated at any time. Please bring them to the Library
or call for pick up.
Contribute to the Endowment Fund
Contributions to the Endowment Fund help to insure the continued viability of
the Friends and the Library, while providing the donor with a Michigan income tax
credit. Note: Contributions of $100 or more to the Endowment Fund also entitle
you to membership – see Join the Friends.
