2014 Summer Reading Program!
Our 2014 BSDL Summer Reading Program is underway! This year we are asking each summer reader to read for a total of 12 hours and for every 2 hours read the child can claim a prize from each of six participating local businesses which include: The Cool Spot, The Corner Toy Store, Frankfort Tackle Box, The Garden Theater, Kilwin’s, and L’Chayim Delicatessen. Each reader will have to come to the library for a stamp and then show their stamped log to each business in order to claim their prize.
Special thanks to all of our sponsors: The Inn at Watervale, Chestnut Hills, Dan Collier Construction, The Cool Spot, Corner Toy Store, Frankfort Tackle Box, The Garden Theater, Kilwin's, and L'Chayim Delicatessen.

What do you geek?
Benzie Shores District Library is participating in Geek the Library, a community-based public awareness campaign. The campaign highlights what people are passionate about and how libraries can support them. Geek the Library features local educational material that introduces ‘geek’ as a verb, and encourages the public to talk about what they ‘geek’—whether it’s engineering, superheroes or art. The public awareness campaign illustrates the fact that everyone is passionate about something—everyone ‘geeks’ something—and that the library supports them all. Click here for more information.
Staff Picks Page We recognize that each patron has different reading tastes and our staff is no exception. Click here for a listing of titles that our staff found interesting/enjoyable. This list is updated weekly, so be sure to check it often.
